Privacy
This note describes what the extension, the license server, and this site store. PlainBlur is sold by Desert Herders Collective LLC (New Mexico).
Support is support@plainblur.com. The public site is plainblur.com.
The page you blur
Blurring happens in the browser. Page content is never uploaded to the license server or to this site. Saved blurs, the free-site choice, and the license stay in chrome.storage.local on this browser.
The license server
The license server stores, in Cloudflare KV, the license key, the plan, the price that was paid, the Stripe Checkout session id, the payment intent id, and anonymous browser seat ids. It does not store a name, an email, or anything from the page you blur.
A revoked license is kept for 30 days. A daily cron then hard-deletes that license record. Support can delete it sooner. After that delete, the Checkout session id and the payment intent id stay marked revoked so the same payment cannot issue a second key.
Rate limits are counted per client address. The counter is stored under a hash of that address. The raw address is not kept.
Stripe is the payment processor. Checkout starts from the extension. This website does not take payment. The page you were blurring is not part of that checkout.
What PlainBlur does not promise
PlainBlur is a best-effort visual aid. It can miss text, images, canvases, and iframes. It does not delete page data. It is not a privacy or compliance guarantee. A short flash of the unblurred page is possible before a blur is applied.
Permissions
The extension asks to store data on this browser, to use the tab you invoke it on, and to inject the blur script into that tab. Remembering a site is optional. Remembering one site asks Chrome for that site. Remembering every site asks for all sites. You can revoke either in Chrome’s extension settings.
This website
The files for this site do not include analytics scripts or cookies. Adding PlainBlur to Chrome is not offered from a store listing here yet.
